A song that i chanced upon in the Bangkok airport. Its Tata Young's I believe
I feel the heat around me
I feel the beat surrounds me
Could this be for real, I wonder
No need for hesitation
It's time for celebration
Will this be the night I've waited for
When angels fall in love
Heaven knows, does it show, oh
If this love, will last for eternity
Set me on fire
[Chorus]
I believe, I believe in love
And like the stars above
They shine, let it shine over me
Set me free I believe in you
And that our love is true
Oh I believe, I believe
I see that people dancing
Boys and girls romancing
They want this to last forever
Cause underneath the moonlight
Everything is alright
We're reaching our hands up in the air
To where the souls alive
Heaven knows, that it shows oh
If this love, will last for eternity
Set me on fire
[Chorus]
How could I doubt, what was meant to be
Everything I needed was in front of me
Your healing touch, will lift me up in the sky, so high
[Chorus]
Its so cheesy yet its so disco, reminds me of espresso's drive me crazy or sylver's forever in love. Disco pop is my favourite genre cos its the best, groove to the move and jive to the drive, beat to the heat and make music with your feet. Anyway i will say this, i absolutely love kit chan cos i like her voice and her songs. The first time where i was actually entranced by a national day song was when home came about, or more accurately Jia. I don't know how but that song actually inspires some form of emotional stirring from within. I dunno how many of you share the same opinion as me but i also like tanya chua's rock song too though it was not exactly love at first sight. I was subjected to it endlessly on the bus and somehow or another decided that it was aural pleasure. So now for the most patriotic thing i have ever done in my life so far, besides the occassional damning of the establishment, i present home and where i belong. Actually now i don't really care much for the establishment cos i have taken a laissez-faire attitude to politics in singapore and as long as they give me what i want and my burberry's i'll leave them be. So stressful just to even debate on election issues. I rather debate on fashion issues, cos you won't get sued flat or maybe scrutinised by the ISA. Anyway i will be creating a friendtest soon so that everybody can give it a go and try it out. See how well you know me. but now, Home and Where i Belong. * patriotism in the air *
Home
Music & Lyrics: Dick Lee
Whenever I am feeling low
I look around me and I know
There's a place that will stay within me
Wherever I may choose to go
I will always recall the city
Know every street and shore
Sail down the river which brings us life
Winding through my Singapore
Chorus:
This is home truly, where I know I must be
Where my dreams wait for me, where that river always flows
This is home surely, as my senses tell me
This is where I won't be alone, for this is where I know it's home
When there are troubles to go through
We'll find a way to start anew
There is comfort in the knowledge
That home's about its people too
So we'll build our dreams together
Just like we've done before
Just like the river which brings us life
There'll always be Singapore
(Chorus X 2)
For this is where I know it's home
For this is where I know I'm home
Where I Belong
Music & Lyrics: Tanya Chua
Morning comes around and I
Can't wait to see my sunny island
In its glorious greenery, whether rain or shine, it's still beautiful
Bright lights shine on the streets at night
Guiding me closer to home
To a place where I'll be safe and warm, where I belong
Friends and families by my side
Seeing me through as I grow and learn
Everyday's experience, bitter sweet or sour
They're still wonderful
As they become precious memories
They'll be kept close to my heart
And no matter where I am I will always know, where I belong
Chorus:
Where I belong, where I keep my heart and soul
Where dreams come true for us
Where we walk together hand in hand towards a future so bright
Where I belong, where I keep my heart and soul
Where we're one big family
I want the whole world to know, I want to shout it out loud
That this is where I know I belong
