Here are a few quotes that i came across in a book. They are quite meaningful in view of the various blogs that i have read so far. It seems that its hard to make new friends and preserve the old ones. I have been meeting up with so many people these days that it becomes something of a nostalgia concert. Every note played, every word said, every laughter made, every memory fade. But now some inspiring and thoughtful blog passages that made me reflect on certain stuff today

but i love that friendship we share.. after all of 16 years.. it's just so different.. that we can walk from holborn to angel without a word.. and there will be no awkwardness.. in zero degrees celsius there was this strange warmth.. just seeing that comforting smile from someone who has been with you practically all your life made it that much better. and it was simply.. well.. wonderful..

sometimes.. i wish we could have gone to LSE together too.. but this is as far as i can go.. and we know that nothing can change that.

sometimes.. i even wish i could go back to kindergarten all over again.. where everyone you knew were just your friends.. you don't split them into friends, acquaintances and colleagues.. a hawaiian dance was a time where you admired each others' flowers on the bikinis and not about perfecting the pirouette or developpe..

Also, even when it feels like I know a ton of people, I can't help but feel just that smidgen lonely.

(So perhaps this is self-pity.)

It's probably partly my fault too, because I don't actively go out with friends whom I probably should keep in touch with. -shrug- Maybe I've really become anti-social.

(I just can't help feeling that I can't understand the people around me anymore.)

I really don't understand certain people anymore. It seems that a year can do wonders. There were people whom i couldn't connect with in the beginning but now i can perfectly gel with. There were others once close but now they seem totally alien to me. As for me, i can't break into an ice fortress when all the time i knock, they just tell me to go away. Well as somebody said, the best friend will put his/her friendship on the line in order to correct another friend's mistakes. I can't be bothered anymore. I am very bad but maybe cos i have had too many friendships on the line in the past year and im sick and tired of forgiving all the time. Might as well not care in the first place. If i am welcome even after a quarrel, i don't mind. Not that im mercenary but im sick and tired of trying to help if there is no want to even if there is a need. I mean why make a friend angry right? I am now taking a very lasseiz-faire attitude to my friends already. If my concern goes for naught i shall not be concerned then. Actually i don't know what to do cos we now disagree on most things. I guess it comes from the increased familiarity that the friction is increased. Its better to be silent than to risk a confrontation. I guess its the nature of the friendship has changed as both of us have changed in different directions. We are growing distant and maybe its for the better, as i once said of somebody: we tend to be better friends as long as we don't see each other often. Different life perspectives and different upbringings. Anyway i just bought a violin. Its so weird that after an event, my impressions of people have changed totally. the tables have turned and those whom were bad became good and those who were good became bad. Im glad that it is so cos its so hard to see true colours at times.

Both statements are very True indeed. Sometimes its no point having too many friends. The friendships begin to deteriorate. I try my best to take an interest in what others are doing but its quite hard when your interests no longer are the same. Maybe its a sign that its time to move on.

Maybe i just don't know how to empathise, maybe its just me being oversensitive but in anycase i shall leave it up to you all to decide cos i am too preoccupied with my own fun now to make time to delve into others troubles. I guess im not so proactive a friend anymore as my stamina and patience is exhausted. I have become singularly more shallow in the space of a holiday. Why? I don't know but maybe i do not wish to worry to death about all these things cos sometimes acting shallow is the best way to conceal your own troubles and escape into the dreamscape that one always wishes to be in. I might be selfish and uncaring but this comes as a reaction to the world and life in general
