I just read something about popular and indie music. On the whole, i quite agree with it. Indie music is also POPULAR, albeit among a different crowd, so on what grounds do these indie-music-people say that their music is better than the so called popular ones. I think its a very narrow minded and bigoted idea to judge music based on one's opinion. The best bet will be time itself. If the music lasts, that means it has the ability to strike the chord of every new generation that comes into contact with it. You cannot say that others have bad taste just because they have never heard of unknown bands and obscure recordings. People might not have the time or interest to do the same things you do, so how can you pass judgement for that? In this world, we lack a respect for others. Lack of respect for their opinions and their preferences. We judge others by our own standards, and invariably everybody falls short except ourselves.
