These weekend has been a lovely one indeed. I must confess that it has livened up my mood indeed. On saturday had a lovely game of floorball, didn't really pose much of a danger to anybody and that was one of the reasons why i was happy. Cos last time i use to have dangerous play but now it seems much better.
Then later popped down to orchard to have lunch at lazy gourmet and burger king. Didn't do any shopping for clothes except to buy citadels and hair gel. I think i have enough gel for the next few months. ha. Do you how much wonders a mushroom swiss can do to one's morale? Tremendous. I never felt better after any meal.
Then headed to east coast to have some beach fun and also to learn how to cycle. A short cycling lesson but the view was great and the atmosphere perfect. Although i was riding the tandem bike with my friend but i got started on my cycling and i must say i love it. Can't really cycle yet but well i am improving!
After that i headed to the comp fair to pay a visit to buy the memory stick that i need for my trip to china. And guess what, i bought an original sony 1GB memory stick pro for 171 when at the sony booth it was going for 300! Wah, and its exactly the same product lor, both made in japan and by sony somemore. Quite worth it. Felt so good after that.
Then headed back to town for dinner at the esplanade makansutra hawker centre where i had a very nice meepok for quite sometime before drowning it in lovely sugarcane ( I haven't had sugarcane for quite some time! ) Then i and my friends who were with me on this entire escapade save floorball headed to harry's for a light drinking session and i so loved the cocktail Still got the Blues and also the Screaming Orgasm. Ha. I am so in love with Bailey's with milk that i think i am going to stock it up at home man. My casual alcoholic drink for my own pleasure. After such a long day, headed home for some much needed rest. Unfortunately, somebody stole my rest hahahaha.
Today on the other hand was a quiet day. Woke up after a 3 hour sleep at 7am for church. After church resumed my sleep till 12. Then i decided to do some research since my holidays are more or less planned and quite short. Must make the best use of the time i have in singapore. After that, i headed for another cyling lesson at my friend's house. Today was even better than the next, i think i should be able to cycle in the next few days or weeks la. Played some soccer and guess what, i haven't been thronging the Great Singapore Sale at all this week. It really is by sheer strength of will that i am doing this. But one cannot enjoy life if enjoyment is just materialism. But ya, saving up for a few things. One of which is a punching bag. The other is a bicycle. Had a nice dinner before returning home.
Now I am really tired and quite sleepy. Tomorrow will be another hectic day cos i have to get this fitness programme thing going and also i need to set Mediquiz questions etc. So i better get going to bed now if not i shall be fat and fatigued. But before i do so, I would like to introduce a few new songs to you, namely La vie en Rose and So Long and Thanks for all the fish. THe first is a beautiful romantic songs that you might have heard fromteh Movie Sabrina. I am going to put both the French and English translation here. The second song is from the OST of The Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Super funny lyrics but you must either have read the book or seen the movie to know the humour.
replies:
ting: Thanks so much for your encouragement. I don't know if you will read this before you go for your church camp but thanks so much for your kind advice.
all the others who have shown concern: thanks so much guys and gals. Without such friends like you i don't know how i would have gotten over it. owe you guys one. After all i haven't blown up on these pages for quite some time already.
After hearing Li Yundi playing the Chopin Fantasie Impromptu, Nocturne Op. 9 No. 2 in Eb major and Lizst Etude No. 3 in G# ( La Campanella ) I want to play the piano again. I think i'll go play them now. I think the music will contrast beautifully with the peace and silence of the night. May the clarity and silence of the night heighten their beauty and help me seek a certain fleeting inner serenity.
ok lastly, lyrics! I SERIOUSLY RECCOMEND THESE SONGS!
La Vie en Rose ( A lovely song made a classic by Edith Piaf, the lovely french chanteuse and her classic chanson. )
So Long and Thanks for all the Fish ( Reminds me a bit of De-Lovely together with the Jazz Age style of a capella singing reminiscent of Sinatra and the Rat Pack)
So long and thanks for all the fish
So sad that it should come to this
We tried to warn you all, but oh dear
You may not share our intellect
Which might explain your disrespect
For all the natural wonders that grow around you
So long, so long, and thanks for all the fish
The world’s about to be destroyed
There’s no point getting all annoyed
Lie back and let the planet dissolve around you
Despite those nets of tuna fleets
We thought that most of you were sweet
Especially tiny tots and your pregnant women
So long, so long, so long, so long, so long
So long, so long, so long, so long, so long
So long, so long and thanks for all the fish
If I had just one last wish
I would like a tasty fish
If we could just change one thing
We would all have learned to sing
Come one and all
Man and mammal
Side by side in life’s great gene pool
So long, so long, so long, so long, so long
So long, so long, so long, so long, so long
So long, so long and thanks for all the fish
